Emily is a 2L interested in pursuing a career as an immigration attorney. She previously lived abroad in Chile and Brazil where she taught English for a number of years. After returning to the U.S., she worked for two and half years at an immigration non-profit based in Portland, Maine. Her privacy law interests surround CBP and ICE immigration surveillance practices as well as issues in requesting and accessing FOIA information for people in immigration detention. Emily enjoys spending her free time skiing and surfing as well as knitting with a good podcast on.
